What is the difference between college and university?

The only difference is the name.

What is the difference between four-year and two-year colleges?

Graduates of two-year colleges receive a bachelor’s degree and can continue their third-year studies at a four-year university. Four-year colleges provide undergraduate, graduate and PhD degrees.

What is the difference between public and private universities?

The defining difference between public and private institutions is how they are funded. Public universities are funded mainly by state governments and therefore the tuition there is usually cheaper.

What is the difference between undergraduate and graduate degrees?

Undergraduate degree is a colloquial term for an academic degree earned by a person who has completed undergraduate courses after finishing secondary education, the most common type is bachelor’s degree.
Graduate degree programs include both master’s and doctoral-level degrees.

What is the duration of MBA programs in the USA?

MBA programs take one to two years to complete.

What level of English is required to study in the USA?

Each institution requires the results of TOEFL or IELTS, a test that shows your level of English. Requirements for the results should be checked on the website of the chosen institution, since each university considers students with different levels of English. If your knowledge of English is not good enough, you can take language courses or take a preparatory language program at the university, if one is offered.

When should you start preparing for admission?

At least one year before the desired start date. Each university has its own deadlines for submitting documents. Most of them are from October to February. That is, you need to make sure that your package of documents is completely ready before the deadlines indicated on the websites of the selected institutions. When preparing, you should take into account the dates of testing SAT / ACT, GRE / GMAT, since for foreign students there are only a few options for testing throughout the year. It is also important to give yourself enough time to write motivation letters and prepare other parts of the application package.
